Doxie Harness

Our old cheap harness gave Noodle what I now know is called a hot spot. Red, oozing, miserable looking. This harness has a narrower, deeper chest panel that just doesn't sit in that fold the way the old one did. Skin's back to normal, no more licking at it either.

Most harnesses assume a dog's chest and neck are roughly proportional. Dachshunds blow that assumption up completely. This is the first one where the straps land where Daisy's body actually is instead of somewhere in the middle that technically works for a beagle. Genuinely feels made for the breed, not adapted for it.

Our vet said with Chorizo's back sensitivity we should be using a proper harness instead of a collar. This one wraps around the chest with no pressure near the neck or spine. He still pulls like a freight train toward every squirrel but at least it's not going through his neck anymore.

You don't appreciate how weird a dachshund's proportions are until you're standing in a pet store trying every harness on the rack and none of them sit right. Waffles's new harness has a longer chest strap and a narrower shoulder width than anything we've owned, and it finally just... fits. No gaps, no twisting around to the side.
